About Us

Salinas Chinese Christian Church, founded in February of 1983. Our purpose shall be to practice the biblical truth, to worship God, to train and to teach the believers and to evangelize non-believers.

We are an independent Christian church that bases our beliefs squarely on the Holy Bible, the Apostles’
Creed, the Nicene Creed, and the Athanasian Creed.  We are a church serving the Mandarin, Cantonese,
and English speaking community.

Members consist of all those who have been enlightened by the Holy Spirit to repent their sins, truly
believe that the Lord Jesus is their Savior and attend services of this church weekly.

We welcome you to worship God with us, to share the joys and sorrows of life, and to enjoy the abundant
riches of our God together and to join us and be a member in the Heavenly Kingdom of God.

Statement of Faith

  1. The sixty-six books of the Holy Bible are all revelations of God, constituting the highest standards and values of our Christian faith and life.
  2. Our God is the Holy Trinity: God the Father, God the Son, and God the Spirit. He created the heavens and the earth. His life, wisdom, holiness, righteousness, love and faithfulness are all infinite, without beginning or end, and never changing.
  3. Jesus Christ is God’s only begotten and beloved Son, conceived by the Holy Spirit, born of the Virgin Mary and thus possessing both natures of God and man. While on the earth, He was tempted but was free of committed and original sins. He suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified for the redemption of our sins, dead, and buried; the third day He rose again from the dead: He ascended into heaven in glory and sits on the right hand of God the Father; from thence He serves as the mediator of the new covenant, the head of the Church, and our high priest in heaven who makes intercession for the saints.
  4. Jesus Christ shall come again in glory and awe to judge and rule the world. The righteous and the wicked shall rise from death to stand judgment. The righteous shall have eternal life, and the wicked shall enter eternal punishment.
  5. The Holy Spirit of truth is one person of the Trinity God. His mission is to glorify Christ, reprove the world of sin, counsel, guide and consecrate the believers through the truth.
  6. We believe in the Holy Universal Church, the communion of saints, the forgiveness of sins, the resurrection of the body and the life everlasting. The Holy Universal Church as referenced in The Apostles’ Creed is the basis of our fundamental beliefs. We changed “Holy Catholic Church” to “Holy Universal Church”’ to clarify that we are not saying we are a Catholic religion. We base our beliefs in two other historic creeds, the Nicene Creed, and the Athanasian Creed. We are a creedal church, so we base our understanding squarely on the creeds.
  7. We believe that God is the creator of human beings in His image, male and female (Gen. 1:26-27). We believe that God is the author of marriage according to the teachings of the Bible. From Gen. 2:24, marriage is to be defined as between one man and one woman. This marriage should be a life-long commitment between the husband and the wife in a caring, faithful and exclusive union according to Malachi 2:14-16 and Ephesians 5:21-33. And we stand resolutely firm and do NOT allow the sanctioning of same sex marriages, a union between homosexuals or lesbians by a Christian clergy.
